Sense-T seeks experienced Corporate Communications Manager

The University of Tasmania seeks an exceptional Corporate Communications Manager to oversee the communications and marketing strategy for the celebrated Sense-T Program.

Applications are invited for appointment to this position, which will be offered part-time or full-time on a fixed-term basis for 12 months (due to parental leave cover), with the successful appointee being required to take up duty in October 2014.

This is a strategic role reporting to the Sense-T Director with a broad range of corporate communications responsibilities including:-
* Providing strategic communications advice to program leaders
* Strategic development and execution
* Media and public relations
* Government and stakeholder relations
* Marketing and branding
* Event management
* Website and social media presence

The Corporate Communications Manager must have a relevant tertiary qualification with demonstrated experience across a range of corporate communications and marketing functions. They will have an understanding of the academic sector and be politically and media savvy. Experience in science/research communications will be highly valued.

The University of Tasmania recently announced a spin-off company, Sense-Co, to commercialise Sense-T research outcomes, establishing an ecosystem that spans the public, private and research sectors. The Corporate Communications Manager works specifically for Sense-T in the research sector, but will need to consider the broader ecosystem and work closely with colleagues in Sense-Co.

The appointment will be at HEO Level 8 and will have a total remuneration package (full-time) of up to $107,659 per annum (comprising salary within the range $85,134 - $98,319 plus 9.5% superannuation).
