Sense-T to take Oyster App to Hong Kong

Sense-T is off to Hong Kong to compete in the 2013 Asia Pacific iAwards after winning a national Merit Award in the Regional Category in Melbourne last night. The award recognised Sense-T’s AquaDS system, a web-based application for the oyster industry that gives a real-time digital overview of oyster farms across Tasmania.

$10 million for Sense-T to create tech jobs and boost traditional industries

Sense-T will deliver highly-skilled technology jobs for Tasmanians and help drive innovation in traditional industries, thanks to the funding injection announced today by the Federal Government. As part of the Tasmanian Jobs Plan, Sense-T, a collaborative project based at the University of Tasmania, will receive $10 million to continue its work in establishing the world's first economy-wide sensor network in Tasmania.

Bid to establish advanced sensor manufacturing and Digital Services Precinct in Hobart

Tasmania could be home to advanced sensor manufacturing as part of a bid to establish a Digital Services Innovation Precinct in Hobart. Information Management & Technology firm nSynergy has so far raised $15 million, mostly from the private sector, and is seeking further support through the Federal Government's Innovation Precinct initiative.
